Chapter 2 of the P|R Consultants Behind The Scenes Series.
Following on from our previous post on Design, we now turn our focus to the next stage in our process: Develop—the bridge between ideas and reality.
At P|R Consultants, the development stage is where creativity becomes tangible. It’s where concepts are translated into visuals, materials are tested, and ideas begin to take physical form. It’s the stage that allows our clients to move beyond the hypothetical and start to really see and feel their vision come to life.
Translating Ideas into Designs
Once we’ve collaborated on the initial design direction, we begin to refine the concept into something more detailed and structured. This involves deep thinking about form, function, materials, and real-world use.
We work closely with our global network of makers and manufacturers to determine the feasibility of each element—asking questions like:
Can this shape be produced in this material?
Will this detail hold up in transit or during high-volume use?
Can this finish be applied within the given budget and timeline?
It’s this pragmatic layer of development that ensures what we create isn’t just beautiful—it’s buildable.
3D Renders & Mockups: Seeing is Believing
To bring these ideas into focus, we lean into one of our most powerful tools: visualisation. Using 3D renders, digital mockups, and physical prototypes, we give our clients a clear and accurate preview of the final product.
These renders allow our clients to explore their concept from every angle—seeing the colours, proportions, finishes, and branding in a near-realistic digital format. For many, it’s the first time they truly feel their vision coming to life.
For physical products—like custom packaging, amenity kits, or product displays—we often take things further by building out high-quality samples. These aren’t just placeholders—they’re functional, tactile, and representative of what we aim to deliver at scale.
The Sample as a Storyteller
There’s nothing quite like holding a product in your hands. It reveals the weight, the texture, the finish—it lets you connect with the details in a way a screen never can.
We treat samples as storytellers:
They communicate the thought and intention behind the design.
They provide the opportunity for feedback, refinement, and iteration.
And most importantly, they build trust.
